This autumn has been hard on my wallet. I will freely admit that I way spent more money than necessary on clothes, shoes, and accessories over the past few months. Last week, after guiltily buying a pair of Rock & Republic studded pumps during a Hautelook blowout sale, I made a pact with myself – no more unnecessary clothing purchases until at least February. I have more than enough clothing to survive winter without weekly visits to the mall. However, I built a little caveat into my pact: since I do love the thrill of the hunt, I decided that if I want something new, I will have to find it at a thrift store. So, last night when I needed a mental break from studying, I headed to Value Village and the Salvation Army Thrift Store to comb the racks for thrift gems. I came back with 2 blazers and was quite pleased that I only spent $15.
After washing this coat in my kitchen sink last night (tag says ‘dry clean only’ – I don’t follow directions well), I decided to wear my new purchase today.
