Laura Wears ... turquoise homemade shift dress

I quickly took these photos last Saturday before attending a friend’s wedding.  It was the first time since early June that I had attempted heels and I was determined to make it work,  Unfortunately, even a minimal amount of walking proved too much & I reluctantly changed into flats after the ceremony.  Too much too soon…

Dress:  homemade ~2008 {I really love the neckline & have been planning to make a white cotton sundress with the same patten..just hasn’t happened yet}
Bracelet:  Lulu’s cuff {old!}; thrifted bangles; Gorjana gold leather wrap
Ring:  Amrita Singh
Shoes:  Charles David Reverse {also here and here}

Winter Walk

cold weather sweater lululemon studio pant

winter walk outfit

Sweater:  McKinley {very similar}
Pants:  Lululemon Studio Pant II {with liner}
Hat:  Club Monaco Colleen {tired of seeing it yet?  It’s definitely a favorite!}
Scarf:  via Winners
Gloves:  Under Armour {I normally wear these while winter running…that being said, my tolerance for cold weather running is terrible & and I only go if the temp is -5C or warmer…}

We had a few mild days recently and we were able to go for a walk without putting on an extra 5 lbs of winter gear.  However, even though this sweater is meant for cold weather, I am also wearing thermal long underwear to stay warm.

Scooter generally wears a backpack on our walks.  Normally we have him carry a couple bottles of water {for himself, since he often gets thirsty on long hikes}, however in the winter he is more apt to eat snow than wait for water, so he carries extra gear instead {light coats, extra mitts, etc}.

I am torn about the {faux?} fur collar.  It’s not really my favorite feature, and I am thinking about removing it.  Normally, I refrain from altering vintage pieces, but interestingly enough, I think the previous owner added the fur after purchase {it’s not listed on the material content tag}.
