For some reason, I look especially sour in these photos. Not sure why…I really liked this outfit. The back of the blouse has some neat layering detail, although unfortunately I didn’t manage to get a decently in-focus shot.
Another casual running-errands look. Despite looking light purple, this shirt is actually has blue and red narrow stripes. Which was surprising when I opened my Club Monaco order (it photographed light purple on the CM website too – so I was expecting to receive a light purple shirt!).
These silk bermuda shorts have quickly become my summer favorite. I really like the flowy silk and the longer length. Maybe I am getting old or maybe I am just too picky (or looking in the wrong place), but I’m really unimpressed with the shorts offerings this summer. Everything seems too short. And too tight. Anything that doesn’t fit into the above category seems to be made of cotton. Which inevitably wrinkles…quickly. I think that’s why this Club Monaco pair is in such high rotation. They are the polar opposite of everything I mentioned above. And perhaps, in a way, they are my own personal protest against the summer parade of daisy dukes and hot shorts.
I loved the look of this SheInside dress online, however when it arrived, it was WAY to short. Even my most daring self could not pull off such a short dress (keep in mind I am nearly 6’ tall). Instead, it has been re-purposed as a top. The quality is pretty decent for the price (I find SheInside can be hit-or-miss with regards to quality).
Happy Saturday! I stalked this J.Crew dress online for quite awhile. When it finally came on sale, I quickly snatched it up. Not only has it been in heavy rotation as part of my work wardrobe, but it can easily be worn for more casual pursuits. It’s one of those great flexible pieces that can be dressed up or dressed down. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. In an effort to simply my wardrobe, I have recently been on the lookout for items that can pull double-duty. I would love to hear about your favorite high-rotation purchases 🙂
As someone who doesn’t particularly like wearing the color red (I think it makes my face look too flush), I am always perplexed about what to wear on Canada Day (July 1). This year I opted for a white dress with a reddish purse & I am quite happy with the results 🙂
