Coat:  Vintage
Scarf:  Dynamite
Sweater:  J.Crew cashmere cardigan
Blouse:  found at Winners
Pants:  J.Crew Full-length Minnie in bi-stretch wool {really liking these pants!  I also bought them in burgundy during J.Crew’s last sale blowout 🙂 I already have a pair of the Minnie’s in twill, but they are not my favorite (because of the fabric).  The bi-stretch wool version is far better!}
Purse:  Vintage {similar here and here}
Shoes:  Pour la Victoire “Carmendy” {also here}

Is anyone else sick of winter?  I don’t normally complain about the seasons, but this winter is just dragging on and on…
I know I’ve said it before, but wearing color really helps my break out of my winter funk…even if only for a short while.  For today’s look, I took a chance on pairing dark olive pants {thanks Wikipedia for help classifying this color!} with my vintage teal coat.  And I have to say, I am quite happy with the result!

Sorry for the lack of recent updates – we are in the middle of an unseasonably low cold-snap & I have been trying to avoid going outside whenever possible.  Normally the average for this time of year is about -5C.  At that temperature I can still be outside with the dogs – take them running or snowshoeing.  However, with our recent temperatures in the -20’s, they want to be outside even less than I do.

There’s nothing like a long down coat to beat the cold.  I picked up this beauty last year during a clearance sale.  It’s now my go-to wear-to-work coat – it keeps me nice and warm during my daily commute!

We are getting blasted by a cold-snap this week.  It’s to the point where Scooter (our dog) has zero interest in going outside.  When we open the patio door, he immediately backs away and looks up as if to say “seriously? you expect me to go out in that?”  Such a funny guy.

Have you entered the MsDressy.com giveaway yet?

Boots:  Enzo Angiolini ‘Karissa’

I probably should clarify – when I say cold-snap I mean the bundled up like a sausage & wearing long underwear under my work clothes type of weather…  These pics were taken last week in slightly milder weather.

Casual holiday outfit

This week’s IFB Project asked bloggers to show off their holiday party style.  One of the events I am most looking forward to this holiday season is our annual girls get-together.  Every year, between Christmas and New Years, myself and 5 of my close high school friends get together to catch-up over dinner and drinks.  Even though our lives have taken us in different directions, and we are no longer as close as we once were, I love that when we get together it is as if no time has passed.  This year, I see myself wearing something like the outfit above – a little bit of sparkle mixed with a little bit of responsibility 🙂
