Sorry about the blog-silence.  It’s been a crazy week.  Kevin and I are seriously contemplating buying a new house (plus over 300 acres of land!).  We have been talking mortgages and crunching numbers for the last five days.  We keep flip-flopping & still haven’t come to a decision.  It is literally our dream property, but it costs a pretty penny…  We have a lot more thinking to do…

Skirt:  c/o eShakti
Sunglasses:  Armani Exchange
Necklace:  Osolee ‘Marilyn’
Bangles:  Amrita Singh
Purse:  Vieta
Shoes:  Jessica Simpson {old!}

I jumped at the opportunity to receive an eShakti skirt after seeing a number other styles around the blogosphere (especially this scalloped style – seen on Sarah and Jen).  My favorite part was that I could completely customize this skirt.  eShakti’s motto is We Design.You Customize – and I was able to input my height, waist, thigh, and hip measurements, along with hip shape to ensure a proper fit.  In addition, I was able to choose the final length of the skirt (short, knee length, or tea length), and whether or not I wanted pockets.  For ordering a custom garment made from scratch, I was surprised how quickly it arrived (it was here in about 2 weeks!).  I am loving the nautical feel and can definitely see myself wearing it again and again.

Chambray shirt and a printed orange pencil skirt

chambray shirt printed j.crew factory pencil skirt

Full disclosure:  I got the idea for this color combination from the J.Crew Factory website (they styled this exact skirt with a chambray shirt).  Needless to say, I loved the combo and decided to replicate the look in real-life.

Another post about burgundy pants…

Part of me wants to clarify – I did not wear these burgundy pants two days in a row.  Monday’s pictures were actually taken last week, whereas today’s pictures were taken last night.  Plenty of washing time between the two shoots…
