Shirt:  Maison Scotch, thrifted
Skirt:  c/o eShakti
Sunglasses:  Armani Exchange
Necklace:  Osolee ‘Marilyn’
Bangles:  Amrita Singh
Purse:  Vieta
Shoes:  Jessica Simpson {old!}

I jumped at the opportunity to receive an eShakti skirt after seeing a number other styles around the blogosphere (especially this scalloped style – seen on Sarah and Jen).  My favorite part was that I could completely customize this skirt.  eShakti’s motto is We Design.You Customize – and I was able to input my height, waist, thigh, and hip measurements, along with hip shape to ensure a proper fit.  In addition, I was able to choose the final length of the skirt (short, knee length, or tea length), and whether or not I wanted pockets.  For ordering a custom garment made from scratch, I was surprised how quickly it arrived (it was here in about 2 weeks!).  I am loving the nautical feel and can definitely see myself wearing it again and again.

Using a summer dress for New Years Eve

Dress:  Halston Heritage (or here) {last seen Summer 2012}
Necklaces:  Expression (at The Bay), J.Crew Factory, RW & Co.
Bracelets:  J.Crew Factory, Cassis
Purse:  Vieta (pic 1), Le Chateau – old (pics 2-4)
Belt:  Winners
Heels:  Jean-Michel Cazabat Ozara (pic 1), Sucomma Bonnie (pics 2-4)

Just a few ways to quickly transform a summer dress into a cozy but formal New Years Eve outfit.  Who says you need a new dress?  That being said, I am having a delightful NYE at home with Scooter (Kevin is working).  So no dressing up for me – just some lazy-night-clothes, some booze, and an evening full of TV specials 🙂

Yesterday, as I was lying in bed with a headache/earache combo, updated all my post tags (check out the new ‘Favorite Outfits’ and ‘Recipes’ categories at the top of the page!).  Ironically enough, I am approaching my one-year blog anniversary, so it was oddly appropriate that I ended up going through all my posts.  It was interesting to see how the blog has grown in the last year – for instance, my photo-taking and posing skills have improved, and I think my most recent outfits have been my best thus far, however I was surprised to see how many “meh” outfits I have posted over the last year.  On one hand, it is a real reflection of what I wear, but on the other hand I think I can do better.  So my goals going into my second year of blogging is to 1) try to reduce the number of “meh” (professional description!) outfits, and 2) post regularly (4-5 times per week).

Dress:  Banana Republic {last summer}  (similar)
Hat:  Pamoa  (nearly identical)
Scarf:  Osolee
Bracelets:  Osolee  {top bracelet (Zoe), middle bracelet, bottom bracelet – hands down, my three favorite bracelets!}
Clutch:  Vieta
Heels:  Pour la Victoire ‘Vanna’ Sandals

I was having some photo problems yesterday (kept cutting off my head!) so I decided to re-do some of the shots (note the brightness differences – annoying).
